Becoming a CLF Author

Loudspeaker data suppliers, such as manufacturers and independent measurement services, can participate in CLF by requesting the reader/viewer. A list of current independent measurement services supporting the CLF:

Measurement software that are known to directly export the CLF text-format from loudspeaker measurements:

CLF distribution binary files are created with the reader/viewer. The reader/viewer reads and checks syntax of the text format files and writes the binary file. The software allows the text format file to be edited with a dedicated editor or with a standard spreadsheet. The procedure for creating a binary format file is:

This will allow the text format files to be created and converted to binary format for distribution to end users. The editor/view is supplied with a unique license file that identifies the user and tags the source of all data.

The text format files can also be prepared using any text file editor. For example, polar data could be written from the software used to measure and process the data and then embedded in a text template that can be read and finalized with the reader/viewer. The reader/viewer includes display of polar plots and balloons allowing easy verification of the input data. Other data types, such as frequency response and impedance can be displayed graphically for simple verification.

A partially functional reader/viewer can be accessed from the download page. This version will perform all functions except saving of binary files. Once you register as a CLF Author you will receive files to upgrade to a fully functional version. You can request the upgrade by sending an e-mail to . We ask that you download, install and check out the Trial authoring kit before requesting the upgrade.
